AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Splendid and important original copperplate engraving and burin by the renowned German master engraver Johann Georg Wille, produced in Paris in 1771.
The work faithfully reproduces the painting by Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich (known as Dietricy), court painter to the Electorate of Saxony. The composition depicts a famous Flemish-origin genre scene: a woman inside a kitchen hands hot pancakes through a window to children and peasants, who reciprocate by offering coins (hence the title "Reciprocal Offerings").
At the bottom, the work bears a rich inscription with a formal dedication to His Highness Prince Adam Czartoryski, an important Polish general, nobleman and patron, complete with the finely engraved heraldic coat of arms.
Condition: The print shows excellent inking and bright blacks. It presents the usual light signs of aging, slight foxing, and intact original margins beyond the plate line (as visible in the photo).
