Small painting with brilliant details by the famous Dutch Amsterdam impressionist animals and landscape painter,
 Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek II, also called Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek The Younger.
 Including a written appraisal report provided by Mr. William Winter, a recognised art and antiques expert/appraiser,
well-known from the Dutch TV-programme 'Tussen Kunst & Kitsch'.

Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek, usually called Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek II belonged to the 4th generation of the Koekkoek family.
He was born in Amsterdam and learned the tricks of the trade from his father Willem.
From an early age, he felt attracted to painting animals and landscapes. This was reinforced by his contact with Elie Heimans.
In 1903 he was commissioned by the English Duke of Bedford to paint his famous animal park. Apart from his qualities as a painter, Koekkoek was also a skilful draughtsman with a stunning brush technique. 
He worked as a scientific draughtsman for the Museum of Natural History in Leiden from 1918 until 1938, where he made almost all illustrations for Prof. E.D van Oort's Ornithologia Neerlandica.
He portrayed the animal figures with a lifelike accuracy.. 
One of these works may possibly have been part of the works commissioned by the Duke of Bedford (the vista with hills). 
This is  beautiful piece of art for the true Koekkoek enthusiast and collector of animal oil paintings.

Signed:   No longer well readable, in the lower right.
Period: first half of the 20th century (possible before 1918).
Oils on wood panel/board (please verify from the photos).
Gold-coloured wooden frame: 4 cm. 
Dimensions with frame are approximately:            19.7 cm x 24.7 cm (the measurements at the top and bottom are different).
Afmeting :                                      12.7 cm x 17.7 cm.
Condition: in overall beautiful and good condition.
At the edges of the panel that are covered by the frame,  there are some bald spots in the paint, which are not visible when the work is framed and therefore not disturbing at all. Restoration for aesthetic reasons is unnecessary.
The colour in some of the photos may differ due to overexposure. 

Provenance:  It was part of a Dutch private property until 2009.
