Handmade long (32.5 cm) Damask knives - cuts on both sides - handle from buffalo horn

A beautiful chef's knife made of damask steel. The knife has an unique pattern, as it is handmade in an artisan way. The knife is very sturdy, razor-sharp and has a traditional South Asian design. Very special is that this chef's knife can cut along two sides. This makes some complex cutting tasks easier. Think of filleting fish for example. It also ensures that your knife will last twice as long before it needs to be sharpened. Your guests are sure to be impressed by this very special knife. The history of damask steel goes back hundreds of years. The legend makes mention of damask knives that are so strong that they can cleave a gun barrel in two and that they can split a falling hair. These are, of course, but legends but indicate that these are special knives. The handle of the knife is made from the horn of a buffalo. The pommel and kick plate are manufactured from solid damask steel. The pattern on the blade for each knife is unique, this is due to the artisan melting process that lies at the basis of this knife. Typical of the steel of a Damask knife, is the pattern that resembles running water. The knife is in new condition and has never been used. Our company imports this knife exclusively from South Asia. She is not available in stores. Technical characteristics: Hand-forged, sharp blade of 1095 and 15N20 high and low carbon steel, with more than 200 layers damask steel. Detailed forging process (checked with optical lens). Precision heat treatment methods were used so that the sharpest edges are visible. Hardness of the steel of chef's knife: 55 HRC on the Rockwell scale. Characteristics knife: razor-sharp, durable and rust resistant. Maintaining the knife: Damask steel is a very special, artisan product with a high carbon value. As a result, Damask knives require special care for use and it’s best, when washing the knife, that no detergent is used. It is recommended that the knife be cleaned with water after each use, be left to dry and then coated with a layer of (olive) oil. This will ensure they keep their natural qualities. It's also recommended to not store the knife for a long time in the sheath, so that the oil remains on the blade. Dimensions: Full length: 32.5 cm. Length blade: 20 cm. Blade thickness: 0.3 cm. Width blade: 4 cm (widest point). Weight without sheath: 342 g. Weight with sheath: 439 g. The package will be shipped registered with track and trace code.
