By the famous French watch brand LIP – - – known for its often unusual designs and good quality. 
The brand still exists. 

Well-maintained men's watch dating from the late fifties.
The hand-wound movement (lip cal. R 23 B) has been oiled/serviced/adjusted by my watchmaker. It has 17 jewels (rubis).
 
After all these years, it still keeps time without any issues. 

The original dial in champagne colour is still in fine condition, with very little spotting. 
Beautiful steel hands.
Date at 6 o'clock (not quick-set) with red numbers.
After the photos were taken, the crown was replaced by a signed, steel LIP crown.

The case is made of solid steel with a steel LIP case back (inscription).

The diameter is approx. 34 mm (excluding crown), from strap to strap it measures 42.5 mm. 
Long 'connected' lugs.

The glass is still fine, with a few small scratches on the bottom right. 
Fitted with an unworn greyish blue strap with crocodile pattern, suitable for wrists of up to 21 cm in circumference. 

Fine old French men's watch in the highly sought-after 1950s style; still runs well and can be worn immediately. 
These days, also very suitable for women's wrists, of course!!
