* A samoyed, samovar, samovaar, samowaar (Russian: самова́р; samovar, listen to the Russian pronunciation) or semaver (Turkish), is a Russian-Turkish tea machine, which consists of a (copper) boiler with a tap, which is placed on a charcoal, petroleum or electrical fire. The name comes from Russian and means "cooker".
The samovar is actually a large water boiler. The (usually "black") tea itself is prepared in a jug as a concentrate; add little water to many tea leaves. By adding the hot water from the samovar to this concentrate, one obtains a drinkable tea.
