The mahogany, the inlaid copper hardware on the lid and the 2 emblems together make this antique writing box a desirable table piece. The interior is finished with lacquered pine. A nice combination of wood types.

When opened. the ‘writing slope’ lined with an eggplant-coloured velvet is revealed, also a notch with a ruler, a stamps compartment, 2 compartments with one glass ink jar and a storage compartment with lid (not original). 
The writing area - with slide - can be opened at two sides to store paper and other writing items underneath.
A working lock, the key will be included.

Condition: good general condition, only the hardware is missing here and there on the corners of the bottom compartment (not directly noticeable). Otherwise only some traces of ageing and wear.

Will be carefully packaged for shipping.
