My opinion is that this artwork is very ancient and possible `painted in Sevilla, close the Murillo Atelier.

Actually there are several copies (painted in the same century) in Sevilla-Spain.

Period: Baroque Spanish. SVII 

Condition: Excellent condition after restoration in 2013. 

Character: Saint Isidore of Seville. Archbishop and Doctor of the Church, He was a Theologian, Historian. He was recognized as the wisest man of his time. He was universally known. (Spain B.C. 556 Cartagena, Seville 336 B.C.)

Explanation: Original Artist Painting commissioned by a nobleman, who subsequently led to the repetition of the work for several Seville´s Temples, included the Holly Cathedral of Seville, where there is a copy of this same in the Main Sacristy. 

Origin: Private Collection.  It was bought in worst conditions and restored after. At the beginning it was folded in two places, making a cross. It seems to have been saved for a long time. We assume that comes from the French sack of Seville and Cordoba in 1808. Later came to light, being purchased by an art collector.
 
My opinion is that it is an excellent baroque artwork.
