If you heard a Thorens once, you will want nothing else. 
The musical characteristics are ‘unheard of’.
The reliability and quality is also unheard of. 
The Thorens TD 166 MKII is a manually operated turntable. 
Very nice turntable which sounds very good. Partly because of the great arm and Philips this turntable sounds very good (better always possible with nicer element). 
A brand new string is included!
But it is a Thorens, which guarantees musicality. 
The operation of this turntable is simply great. 
The turntable really looks particularly neat with slight signs of wear or wear spots and a small stain on the faceplate.
I polished the edge of the plateau slightly to give it an even richer look!
I can say that this is a very neat Thorens turntable.
The turntable is therefore upgraded to high end standards.

Also the 4 feet are renewed for very sharp muting.
The original little ones usually waste away after 40 years.
Arm rest is missing and transverse force weight is not original.
