A rare and complete "Dutch Doll"  from around the 1880's.  In very good condition, with no signs of actual use.   The lathe hole is still visible and note should be taken of the 'flat' parts at the back of the head.

These dolls were made by small family businesses in the mountains of Germany and Austria and exported all of Europe and the United States. 

Due to their somewhat fragile state, many did not survive playing with children. This doll formed part of a private collection. This doll, and others recently sold on Catawiki, were found in mint condition in a box in Germany in 1982.
