Contax IIIa from 1937 with Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar T* F2/50 mm lens. Contax IIIa is the same camera as the Contax IIa but with an exposure meter. The Contax IIIa was considered a professional high quality Rangefinder camera with a wide range of interchangeable lenses. The Contax was praised for its excellent mechanics and finish and was the main competitor of the Leica M3. Shutter speeds: from 1250/s (!) to B. 

Camera has clear signs of age/use, the screw fastenings press on the leather in some places, the chrome is discoloured in places (brass). But on the other hand, the shutter and all shutter speeds work well on hearing. Film transport is running well. Original film reel present. Exposure meter responds. Rangefinder works well and viewfinder image is clear. The small film counter also runs and mechanical self-timer works. The left button is for DIN/ASA settings and rewind.

The post-war coated CJZ Sonnar focuses and focuses smoothly, but contains the necessary dust particles. Effect not tested with film. Diaphragm of F2-22. Serial number body and back wall matching.
