Ca. 100-500 AD, An amazing Ancient Roman Iron Spatha sword with a long tapering blade and a beautiful handle / hand carved reconstructed bone handle following ancient technique and design - Museum Quality item. The spatha was a key part of Roman military equipment and was used as a heavy infantry weapon, especially by the German auxiliaries. Size: L:1000mm / W:80mm ; 1.4kg Good Condition. This item has been professionally cleaned and conserved. Provenance: Property of a N.L.G; previously acquired on the UK/European art market in the 1970s.
