The Capodimonte porcelain was developed by Meissen Porcelain (Germany). One of the most famous forms of Italian art, the decorative ceramics, was created in this factory. It’s next to the Capodimonte Castle. Capodimonte porcelain has stood the test of time, thanks to the creativity of Neapolitan artists. The first craft factories, all of them family businesses, appeared in the second half of the 19th century. The Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte has been a Museum in Naples since 1957 (Capodimonte Museum). The most famous artefacts of the Neapolitan tradition are kept and can be admired there. In addition, Capodimonte porcelain maintains its world excellence and pieces of artistic craftsmanship are still produced by experienced hands.
