Military Issue USAF Aircraft Periscope Sextant
This periscopic aircraft sextant was the means of navigation in the dark days before electronic GPS systems. These sextants were used from the 1950s to the early 2000s. The periscopic sextant was not an integral part of the aircraft, so maintained separately, but taken on each flight. The power supply for the sextant was taken from the aircraft DC power source. The sextant uses a bubble level finder, and a crosshair sight to line up with the horizon and stars, telling you in which direction you are going. 

Made in the USA door Kollsman Instrument Corporation.

This sextant was offered by the crew of the USS Nathan Hale (SSBN-623). This was the sixth nuclear-powered fleet of the Lafayette-class ballistic missile submarine to be produced. 

A special and unique object. The device has been tested and is working properly.

Will be carefully packaged and sent by registered mail.
