Description: An amazing bronze phiale of a deep form with a broad rim, and raised centre - the omphalos, to facilitate holding a bowl by inserting the middle finger in the external depression and keeping the thumb on the edge. This bowl was probably used as a ritualistic vessel for religious ceremonies.
