This is a rare example with an adult specimen. It shows ultra fine details, as compound eyes are 3D , not flat.
Very well centered on matrix.

While Eurypterids (“Sea Scorpions”) are uncommon fossils worldwide, New York state and Ukraine are one of the few places where conditions for preservation have been ideal. 

They were large arthropod predators during the Silurian and Devonian, reaching a maximum length of 2 meters
. 
Eurypterus (Baltoeurypterus) tetragonophthalmus Fischer, 1839 , is presumed to have crawled along the seafloor, using its grasping pincers to seize trilobites and other prey. 

Notes of restoration: part of swimming paddles are reconstructed as all the upper walking legs.

The matrix is been glued as it was broken in two.

Specimen is  8,7 cm.
Matrix is 10 x 7,5 x 3,7 cm.
