Golliwogs Music band figurines
Rare set of 9 pieces of Golliwogs hand-painted dolls.
The Golliwog doll occurs for the first time in the children's book "The Adventureo f Two Dutch Dolls and a Golliwog" written by Bertha Upton in 1895.
The stories and books were immensely popular, and 12 stories were written.
The English Robertson marmelade factory even used this Golliwog in its company logo.
Decades later, a lot of resistance came from people who felt the depicted Golliwog was racist. The Golliwog disappeared as a logo.
Figurines and depictions were also banned later.
This set of 9 pieces was issued as collector's item by the Robertson Jam factory in England and is therefore unique.
It is a rare collector's item.
