Up to your attention a huge,45x32cm,icon depicted a "Pokrow"-the Protection of Holy Mother.It was painted in Western Russia,under the last Tsar Nivholas Ii.This version has a focus pointed more to the story of Romanos the Melodist in lower part,and a Holy Mother is presented in less detailed way in upper part.The pair of Emperor Costantin and Emperess Helen stand at the right handside of Romanos and The Holy Andrew Fool in Christ with his disceple Epiphanius at the left.The Imperial couple and Romanos have richly decorated clothings and are full of details,pls.see crowns,coats ansd vests.Some details are painted in enamels and are in relief when touched.The overall quality is high.The condition of the icon shows at the back traces of repair.INice additon to each collection.
