I am selling an iconic and very rare amplifier Marantz Power 250 from my hifi collection. It has been completely rebuilt and upgraded. It has a few minor scratches on the top and back due to its age but nothing to worry about. It sounds amazing. Warm and wide soundstage with plenty of power to feed even the most hungry speakers. Watching it play with beautiful VU meters is mesmerizing. I will send it very well packed in a solid box filled with styrofoam. 

Marantz Power 250 Amplifier was considered as Holly Grail amongst HiFi enthusiasts during '70's.  Very rare European version for 220V/240V operation

The amp has been completely rebuilt and upgraded to the 250 M version.

For most audiophiles, 250M hits the sweet spot as the best-value Marantz amp ever. The price of new one was 3190 DM in 1975 which would be approx 5100 € today. 


In-depth maintenance and upgrade service done 05/2021, to assure flawless operation and performance:

* Cleaned and detailed in and out;

* All controls and potentiometers cleaned

* The electrolytic capacitors in power amp circuit boards were tested and replaced

* Cold solder joints re-flowed with fresh solder;

* DC balance adjusted;

* Bias voltages adjusted for best sound and amp stability;

* The output transistors in each channel are matched;

* Fresh thermo grease added for both channels transistors;

* The amp was tested at full power into a dummy load for 2 hrs and is stable, with no oscillation;

* The sound is just beautiful and very powerful, as it should be.

* Compact, but extremely heavy for the size; feels like a chunk of solid steel; most people get very surprised when they lift a vintage high-power Marantz power amp for the first time

* Normal home listening levels: 0.03 W - 5 Watts output

* Damping factor: 100
