Jaguar - XJ6 4.2 Series 3 - 1981

This petrol Jaguar XJ6 4.2 with a manual gearbox is an iconic example of English carmaking. The third series was the most enduring and most popular, seeing numerous improvements compared to the two previous series thanks to major technical updates and aesthetic input from Pininfarina. The classic and elegant design features beige genuine leather interior and briar wood inserts on the dashboard. The burgundy paint is original and has been maintained in very good condition over 42 years, with just a few signs of imperfection due to the passage of time; it has never been repainted. The leather on the seats is intact and the door panels are also in very good condition, with just a small cut on the back passenger side panel. Equipped with air conditioning, a stereo with front and rear speakers, electric windows and power steering. The front and back bumpers are in very good condition, and all the chrome elements are shiny and intact. The 6-cylinder engine has 38,010 km on the clock; it is not certified, as the historical service book is not present, but considering the excellent condition of the car, it is presumed to be original. The gearbox is manual, which is typically much more popular than the automatic gearbox, as it is more reliable and easier to maintain. The underside is free from rust and in very good condition. The car is also fitted with the approved LPG fuel system, as written on the registration certificate, which can be disassembled upon request at the buyer's expense. Complete service carried out 6 months ago, which included changing the engine oil and filters. The car drives very well and is as comfortable as the best modern cars: it feels like being in a living room on 4 wheels! Registered in the Italian ASI historical register under number 239901. No work necessary: just turn the key and enjoy the ride. Costs of transfer of ownership or documentation for export and transport costs are to be paid by the buyer. The seller can provide assistance in organising transport; the car is located in Casalnuovo in the Province of Naples, Italy. Available for a test by arranging an appointment via Catawiki.
