Antique drive mechanism "Tourne broche" of a spit from the early 18th century.
 This was used to roast poultry for the fire.
 After winding, it is driven by a counterweight with a solid stone .
 This is a very early example that was still made by a clockmaker.
 The mechanism is made entirely in wrought iron with wrought iron gears.
 The spit still works very well, but can only be used as decoration due to its great age.
