The reference 16014 replaced the Datejust 1601 in the late 1970s.

Today, Rolex refers to the pairing of stainless steel with gold as “Rolesor.” The reference 16014 falls under the “White Rolesor” category, with its fluted bezel in white gold and stainless steel throughout the rest of the watch and bracelet. The all-white metal finish is very desirable to many because of its understated versatility.
