In our time, climate change is in the news daily but it was not until the 20th century that any professionals took this subject seriously, and then no more than a few. Robert Angus Smith was well respected in his field, he had a long and distinguished career as a chemist. He was a former student of the celebrated professor, Liebig to whom this book is dedicated.
