Luc Peter Crombé was een Belgische kunstenaar die geboren is in 1920 te Opwijk en die in 2005 overleden is te Sint-Martens-Latem.  Hij was een schilder, tekenaar, glazenier, keramist, ontwerper van juwelen en wandtapijten.  Opleiding aan de Academie en aan Sint-Lucas te Gent, aan het Hoger Instituut te Antwerpen o.l.v. J. Verdegem en C. Permeke, kunstgeschiedenis aan het Louvre te Parijs, grafische kunsten te Frankfurt.  Werkte als restaurateur en frescoschilder in Venetië, Rome, Parijs en Frankfurt.  Naast religieuze onderwerpen vindt hij zijn inspiratie in het kind, het landschap en vooral de mens.  De kleur, ontdekt in Spanje en Marokko, heeft hij als animist verzacht.  Door zijn kennismaking met de Renaissancekunst in Italië ging zijn aandacht zich meer toespitsen op de tekening, aldus kwam de lijn meer tot haar recht en werd de kleur herleid tot een minimum.  Uit de pers: ‘Door de werkwijze van transparante dunne lagen boven elkaar krijgt hij een grotere kleurenintensiteit en tevens een levendigheid die onmiddellijk aanspreekt’.  Vestigde zich te Sint-Martens-Latem, vervolgens te Deurle.  Was leraar aan het Berchmansinstituut te Gent.  Werk o.m. in het museum te Brussel.  Vermeld in Twee eeuwen signaturen van Belgische kunstenaars.
