A rare bi-folio of a Chinese Quran rescued from a badly damaged Quran dating back to the late C17/early C18th. Like most Chinese adoptions of the Koran, the script is Muhaqqaq - generally large form with flat and wide lettering and straight verticals. Because of this, it is rare to find a complete Quran manuscript in China: they were generally scribed as 'sectional' Koran based on individual Surah or groups of Surah. 

Each of the these folios contains 5 lines of very well spaced scripture with devotional markings. The right folios 4th line of script is a heading form in red with its own double-lined ref frame. This is in a different script style (which I cannot accurately define). The right folio also contains a decorative floral marginal divisional roundel whihc branches out from the margin of the frame of the script. This has a faded gold centre with a red motif and peels to the circumference.  

This would be an interesting addition to a collection and would frame well as a double or as two single pages.
