MASQUE EKPO - EKET - NIGERIA
Les Eket, vouent un culte au soleil et à la lune. 
Leurs masques ronds sont utilisés au cours des rites de la société Ekpo lors des périodes de semailles et représentent l'union du soleil et de la lune qui donne naissance au Monde.

"Ekpo" signifie "fantôme" et nomme aussi la société secrète masculine chargée d'évoquer et d'intercéder auprès des ancêtres.

On sait peu de choses sur ces masques. Dans "Formes et Figures" Skira page 100, on nous apprend qu'en définitive il se pourrait qu'ils proviennent d'un sous-groupe des Okobo, chez les Ibibio,
