A message for the Apple aficionados who COLLECT "original BOXES! I have another nice object to auction off. I proudly present: the "iMac 17-Inch INTEL "Core 2 Duo" 2Ghz. This is the generation of iMac with an Intel Processor (it replaces the PowerPC processor) and it is much faster than the PPC series.

The Intell iMac "all-in-one" desktop makes an appealing system for many Graphic Design & Music students. 

>> Good 2 Know:
I didn't delete the "previous account" because this iMac has the expensive (boxed) ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE 5 installed. Ideal for "Graphic Design students" who are on a budget (and don't want to pay the monthly subscription)!

FYI: I can install a fresh SNOW LEOPARD 10.6 system (new account on your name) if you don't need the "Creative Suite 5" (and the other applications). Then you can install new "software" yourself. Please let me know (immediately) after payment. Otherwise I ship the iMac like this.

// WIFI & WEBCAM & GREAT SOUND!
The iMac G5 has built-in AIRPORT Extreme to "connect" in no time with your WIFI network (it still works with today's wifi protocols! PS/ I tested it). Furthermore, it has a built-in ISIGHT video camera for video conferencing (ideal for Teleworking or Home Study). 

This iMac is a beautiful machine overall, and it works like a charm. I am definitely very enthusiastic about this item. No capacitor plague for this unit.

The iMac is a computer completely built into a flat-panel monitor (Polycarbonate casing – mounted on an Aluminum stand). It is still surprisingly compact.

This is a great computer for anyone looking to be able to handle Digital Images, Audio and Video in a stable environment. Apple created the perfect machine for Demanding Users, like Graphic Designers, Photographer and Musicians. And still today, this iMac offers "stability" and the "ability" to handle Graphics and Audio quickly. 

// GERM-FREE WIRELESS PRO KEYBOARD & MOUSE 
The "iMac" comes with the accompanying RARE Apple "Pro" keyboard [A1243] and WIRELESS mouse [A1197]. Those objects alone are already worth a fortune on auction websites. The keyboard and mouse are cleaned professionally. In my opinion it is my responsibility (as a seller) to provide a Germ-Free keyboard and mouse (a 2018 study found that 96% of the keyboards were contaminated with bacteria). So, I think we can agree that nobody wants a nasty, infected keyboard. 

PS/ some pictures show "another keyboard and mouse". I was cleaning the right ones on the time of photographing. So check the pictures with the "describing text" so you know what you're bidding on.

PS2/ The keyboard is AZERTY (not qwerty). But you can attach any USB keyboard to this iMac.

// HARDWARE & SOFTWARE

It was Steve's vision to intertwine hardware and software. Retro-computing without software is therefore – in my opinion – "meaningless". Therefore, all my macs are packed with "tons of pre-installed software of yesteryear", ready to use – and to give you a glimp of Apple's history. This 100% working and technically checked “Vintage” bundle comes with “working software”. E.g. Adobe Creative Suite 5 (including the applications: "Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign"), Apple Software (like iMovie, etc) – and Office Suite for MAC X (including the applications: "Word, PowerPoint, Excel").

Note: Both the applications and the operating system are installed in ENGLISH.

This is an excellent opportunity for both the "Apple/ Macintosh Box Collector" and the "Graphic Designer / Student". In addition to being a "today" still perfectly usable "Desktop Publishing (DTP)" Computer, this "iMac" is also a true collector's item, which can be used as a design object. It gives you the best of both worlds! 

There is 1GB RAM to use this machine to its full potential, and speed up "rendering" within the graphic ADOBE programs from the Creative Suite. The screen is COLOR-CALIBRATED * – Adobe RGB 1998 – by myself (I am a professional "Graphic Designer/ Teacher" for 30 years now). Color-Calibration* is a must for every Graphic Designer / Typographer / DTP'er – and for students at "Graphic courses". 

// MORE INFORMATION & FEATURES
In terms of connectivity, the iMac's ports are located on the back of the unit, a fairly neat place to plug in. 

Connectivity includes:

– built-in iSight video camera > for video conferencing;
– built-in AirPort Extreme and Gigabit Ethernet (WIFI);
– built-in stereo speakers;
– two Firewire "400" ports;
– three USB 2.0 ports;
– mini-DVI, which supports an external display in "extended desktop" mode (rather than just "mirrored mode").

In terms of audio, there's a headphone output that doubles as an optical output and microphone input, and the iMac's speakers, powered by a 12 Watt amplifier (located on the bottom of the unit) so that the sound is output downwards and reflected off the desk on which the computer is standing. The results is a well defined sound and adequate bass response.

Like the aluminium-clad Apple Cinema Displays, the iMac is suspended by an aluminum stand with an adjustable hinge, and support the "Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) mounting interface standard" which makes it easy to mount the system directly on a kiosk, wall, or articulating arm.

// Specifications:

– The iMac 17-Inch" features a  INTEL "Core 2 Duo" 2Ghz, with two independent processor "cores";
– 1GB;
– 160 GB (7200 RPM) ATA hard drive – this means the internal drive is perfectly fast enough for recording audio without having to connect an external Firewire hard drive;
– vertically-mounted slot-loading DVD+R DL "SuperDrive"
– ATI Radeon X1600 graphics acceleration on a PCI-Express bus with 128 MB of GDDR3 memory;
– built-in stereo speakers underneath the 17" TFT Active Matrix LCD (1440x900) display designed to "bounce sound off the desk below". 
– The iMac G5 series is cooled by three "ultra-quiet blowers that draw cool air into the system" through the speaker grill and a slit in the top of the back of the case allows heat to dissipate.

// IMPORTANT
As these are "vintage items", they are being sold as. Normal signs of use and wear. But as an experienced connoisseur I can guarantee that these items are in GOOD condition (always keeping in mind their age). 

PS/ be aware that "white objects" show some discolouration and user stains after years of usage. Don't bid on this bundle if you think this will bother you.

// 1 ISSUE !
The iMac workls "perfectly" (including the CD/DVD and sound), but there is ONE issue! You decide for yourself "how" big it is ;)

The TFT screen shows some vertical lines – see detailled pictures – (some more obvious then others). Personally, I didn't care about it to much while using the iMac. I always have used the Creative Suite and it work "perfect" for me.
