Lot of 25 Work Safety Posters - USSR, 1986


Up for auction is this lot of 25 original vintage Soviet propaganda posters intended to prevent industrial accidents and injuries.

Industrialization was one of the the Soviet economy was one of the USSR’s top priorities. A modern, industrial Soviet Union would have economic independence from capitalists countries. However for the workers poor safety standards and a largely illiterate population meant workplace accidents were commonplace.

The state commissioned artists to create visual safety posters for the factory walls pointing to the major threat of electric, machines, hot iron and live wires.

Size of these workplace posters is 59cm x 44cm.

All text is in Russian,

The posters are in overall excellent condition, with a couple having minor wear in the margins.

Will be shipped with great care.
