A  very nice old hand press, in good condition! and very industrial.
Look at those beautiful cast iron gears, magnificent cast iron, what a beautiful patina !!!

Very nice for decoration, possibly the chassis  can also be used particularly attractive as a stand for a table.
One of the hand cranks at the top is missing.

A mangle / wringer is a tool that was used for the simultaneous removal of moisture from washed fabric and ironing
Between two rollers, of which the distance between the rollers could be set, the textile was put through, so that the water was pressed out. Later, this was taken over by the centrifuge.

In the 21st century, the mangle / wringer is almost no longer used in households. In commercial laundries, the mangle (highly modernized) is still widely used. The word lives on in the expression "door de mangel halen" (be put through the wringer), meaning to pressure someone, squeezing someone figuratively speaking. (Source Wikipedia - Dutch)
