Marilyn Monroe 1926 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien, als Norma Jeane Mortenson, kirchlich registrierter Taufname Norma Jeane Baker war eine US-amerikanische Filmschauspielerin, Filmproduzentin und Fotomodel. Sie wurde in den 1950er Jahren zum Weltstar, ist eine Popikone und gilt als archetypisches Sexsymbol des 20. Jahrhunderts.
Monroe wählte ihren Künstlernamen – Marilyn Monroe. Der Name wurde zu Ehren des Broadway-Stars Marilyn Miller aus den 1930er Jahren gewählt, und den Nachnamen wählte Monroe selbst in Anlehnung an den Mädchennamen ihrer Mutter.
