High end Cd Player from Sony QS series. 
The unit is absolutely fantastically well built.
The device is made entirely of aluminum, with no plastic parts, except for the transport drawer, which uses a 'Fixed Pickup Mechanism.' This mechanism operates very smoothly and quietly. Additionally, it can read CD-RW discs, a feature that was uncommon in standard CD players.

It also supports CD Text, which is a great feature now that it's standard on CDs as of 2020. 

Operating the machine is a pleasure, with smooth and responsive controls on the front panel, enhanced by a convenient jog dial for track selection. The remote is equally impressive, covering all the essential functions.

The headphone output is of high quality, delivering a clear, uncolored sound and effectively driving headphones.

Another feature of this unit it has switchable filter. 

In the past, the optical and coaxial outputs were useful for connecting to a CD-R, but they’re no longer needed. You can use an external DAC, though I don’t see the benefit, as the Sony plays discs without modification. Even modern DACs, like the Pioneer N50A, don’t offer any audible improvement over the 20-year-old Sony’s DAC.
