Superb iron currency from Africa, Chamba - Nigeria. XX Century.

a bundle of single pieces of currency, in a snake shaped form, gathered to create the shape of a tree. A blade sticking out from its centre, which at first sight  might seem the kounkourou currency of the Malinke tribe which circulated in the southern Mali. 
 
Forged iron - Size: 70 X 13 X 13 cm / Weight: Aprox. 2 Kgs (For sale with stand).

Acquired from a Spanish private collection, R.O in the 80's.
