A well preserved triangular Neolithic stone arrowhead with a tapering point. The arrowhead is mounted in a modern bail to make it wearable as a pendant, strung on a modern leather jewellery cord with clasp.

Sizes: ± 38,2 x 14,8 mm (including bail)

Condition: well preserved condition, strung with modern materials. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. See images.

Certificate of Authenticity (PDF) is available upon request for lots with a hammer price of €100 or higher.

HISTORY:
Neolithic arrowheads are a testament of human innovation and hunting prowess. Their design accommodates both hunting and defence purposes. They symbolize the capacity of humans to adapt and thrive in the challenging Neolithic environment.
The sophistication of this ancient tool-making technique sheds a light on prehistoric lifestyles, survival strategies, hunting practices and the cultural development of the early humans on the African continent.
