Prachtige kleurrijke zeefdruk van Cees Dolk.

Cees Dolk werd in 1949 geboren in Rotterdam. Hij volgde zijn opleiding onder andere aan de Academie Artibus in Utrecht, de Universiteit Jalapa in Veracruz Mexico en de Styria Studio in New York. Behalve schilder is Cees Dolk ook boekbinder. Het werk van Dolk, dat bestaat uit collages, schilderijen, litho’s en tekeningen, wordt gekenmerkt door zijn krachtig primair kleurgebruik.

Cees Dolk presenteert ons een zintuiglijke ervaring, waarbij uitgesproken vormen en kleuren een sterke visuele indruk achterlaten. De vormeloosheid in zijn hoofd van elkaar bestrijdende gedachtes en gevoelens krijgen een vorm op het papier en linnen. Vaak zien we hoe verschillende lagen en vormen met elkaar spelen, soms in conflict en soms op harmonieuze wijze.

De titels van de kunstwerken van Cees Dolk verwijzen vaak op een duidelijke manier naar het werk dat we zien, zoals bij ‘Tulpen & Zo’ of de ‘Flora en Fauna’ serie. Andere titels zijn mysterieuzer en doen ons gissen naar wat het is dat we zien, zoals bij zijn ‘Talmen en Dralen’ serie of bij de werken die de naam ‘Roerend en onroerend’ dragen.
