Jules (Juul) is geboren op 1 augustus 1918 in Lamorbey - Sidcup (GB) als Julius, Leopold De Cort en overleed op 11 juli 1999 te Wilrijk (België).
Kreeg zijn opleiding aan het Hoger Instituut van Antwerpen onder leiding van Opsomer en Permeke. Schilderde onder meer vlotte luministische zeegezichten, landschappen, stadsgezichten, interieurs, maar is vooral bekend en gezocht omwille van zijn stillevens (vaak met bloemen).
