The Firebird gas lighter was created in 1993 following a design workshop to investigate the communicative dimension of objects, their ability to inspire, intrigue and amuse people, in a word, to relate to them. With its educated but, nevertheless, explicit, erotic allusion, at the time it generated a lot of criticism in the more puritanical environments, both inside and outside the design world. Over the years it became a real pop icon and, when it went out of production, it was obsessively sought after by collectors, ready to invest quite considerable sums of money to have it in their collections. Therefore Alessi reissued some years after its first appearance this Firebird 2.0 to honour the product with a gold PVD coating finish. The Firebird is an electric arc lighter that supplies enough heat to light a cigarette, candle, gas burner or the paper in a fireplace. Thanks to the long shaft, the lighter can be used easily in hard to reach positions. A domestic sculpture to be left on display and used when necessary.

Specifications:
- Equipped with a safety switch that allows you to turn it off when not in use.
- Rechargeable and works without the use of flammable liquids. 
- A USB port on the base of the lighter enables charging. 

This Firebird is in a new and unused condition. Delivered with original packaging, manual and power cable equipped with a micro usb socket. 

About Guido Venturini:
Born at Alfonsine in 1957. Architect, designer and explorer in the field of industrial design, interior design and architecture. In 1985 he and Stefano Giovannoni founded the Bolidist group and set up King-Kong Productions. He has taught at Domus Academy and at Florence Faculty of Architecture. Music is his greatest passion and source of inspiration. He has collaborated with many important companies, including Brf and Kundalini. He is one of the founders of Bolidismo.

Alessi, a renowned Italian design brand founded in 1921 Giovanni Alessi, has become a symbol of cutting-edge design and innovative craftsmanship, especially in Postmodernism and Contemporary design as well as some Bauhaus objects. This makes Alessi a brand with high impact and rich marriage with fundamental design DNA. More recently, a collaboration with Virgil Abloh's creative agency infused a fresh, modern sensibility into Alessi’s offerings.
