This expression of Tomintoul was distilled in 2009. It then underwent its first maturation period in ex-bourbon casks. The final maturation period was in high-quality cognac casks, specially selected by Master Distiller Robert Fleming. The whisky is bottled at 46% and is characterised by rich fruit flavours with a strong character.

Tasting notes
Nose: Sweet aromas of almonds, baked apricots, vanilla, dark chocolate and pink peppercorns.
Palate: Complex layers of gingerbread, white chocolate, hints of dark fruit and baking spices.
Finish: Warm spices, oak, vanilla, milk chocolate and hints of chestnut.

In the Scottish Highlands, in the middle of the prestigious Glenlivet area, lies the village of Tomintoul. Here in the heart of the Speyside region lies the Tomintoul Distillery.

In the middle of the last century, it took more than a year to find a water source that could be used to produce malt whisky. The search ended with the discovery of the Ballantruan Spring, a special source of the purest water, nestled in the Cromdale Hills. Nearby, on the majestic Avon River, the Tomintoul Distillery was built. The natural environment, the high altitude, the pure air and the high quality water from the Ballantruan Spring contribute to the exceptional quality of Tomintoul Speyside Glenlivet single malt: "the gentle dram". Angus Dundee Distillers, the owner of the Tomintoul Distillery, together with a team of well-trained employees, brought the distillery to fruition.

The production of Tomintoul Speyside Glenlivet single malt whisky is a mix of magic, mysticism, craftsmanship and time. For the production of a good single malt scotch whisky, three ingredients are the most important: malted barley, yeast and, last but not least, water. A source of pure water is an important element for this. The Tomintoul Distillery is blessed with a constant supply of pure water from the Ballantruan Spring. Tomintoul allows its whiskies to rest in casks for at least 10 years: the best casks are sometimes left for 16 years or even up to 33 years.

Robert Fleming, director of the Tomintoul distillery and whose family has been distilling whisky for generations, is the Master Distiller. His team has centuries of combined experience in the craft and traditions of making the finest scotch malt whiskies.
