Teeling Whiskey Distillery is located in the heart of the historic Liberties of Dublin, Ireland’s capital city – just a stone’s throw from where Walter Teeling first began distilling in 1782. Set against a backdrop of a city steeped in whisky history, the distillery opened its doors in 2015 as Dublin’s first new distillery in over 125 years. Dublin was once home to over 37 distilleries. The distillers are proud to have brought the tradition of distilling back to Dublin city centre with the opening of this distillery. Whisky making and entrepreneurship have been in the Teeling family’s DNA since 1782, when Walter founded a small craft distillery on Marrowbone Lane – in Dublin’s industrial heartland. Since 2012, Jack and Stephen Teeling – the latest generation of distillers – have been at the helm.

Teeling distillers are known for their vision of doing things differently. Their whiskeys embody an unconventional spirit with innovation at the core of everything they do. What’s in the bottle is important to them – they let the liquid speak. And their liquid has something to say.

The smooth base of Irish whiskey is the perfect “canvas” on which to layer flavor and character. The variation in time, style, and number of casks used during the maturation process adds to the subtlety and complexity of the flavor. The whiskey is bottled in its natural form and at 46% cask strength – uncolored and non-chill filtered to preserve its rich aromatic profile.

In the words of Jack Teeling: “The entire whiskey-making process takes approximately nine months, from start to finish, including pilot blends, trade sampling, cask selection and scaling up to full production… But once bottled, all that work takes just a moment to sip, savor, and savor.”

To celebrate the rise and next chapter of the golden era of Irish whiskey, Teeling Whiskey is proud to introduce the second edition of the Rising Reserve – a limited edition of just 6,000 bottles.

Following on from the award-winning Revival and Renaissance series, this second edition consists of hand-picked casks selected from their reserves of the finest single-malts. Rising Reserve No. 2 is a 21-year-old Irish single-malt whiskey that is first matured in ex-bourbon casks and then undergoes a second period of maturation in high-quality Italian ex-Marsala wine casks. This additional maturation adds rich spicy and fruity notes with a subtle hint of brown sugar and caramel.

It has a beautiful golden color. The aroma is a delicate vanilla sweetness, toasted apricots, tobacco, oranges and roasted almonds. The taste is characterized by notes of brown sugar, sweet fruit, oak and a light touch of cinnamon. The finish is rich and persistent - it melts into a subtle citrus-spicy flash.
