La purezza e la tradizione sono valori fondamentali in Giappone e Seiko li sottolinea nella sua collezione di orologi meccanici Presage. Con le sue curve sottili e la sua elegante semplicità, l'orologio automatico SPB231J1 è una bella aggiunta alla collezione Presage. Il quadrante testurizzato si ispira al tradizionale motivo giapponese meglio conosciuto come "Foglie di canapa", usato nei tessuti, ma anche in altri contesti sin dal periodo Heian, risalente a oltre mille anni fa. Infine, i motivi geometrici dai bordi netti del quadrante e la texture ricca presentano un aspetto che muta con il gioco della luce che si riflette da diverse angolazioni.
