This rare violin was crafted by renowned Prague luthier Alfons Vávra in the early to mid-20th, as indicated by its original label: "Alfons Vávra, Houslař, Praha II, Jindřišská 973". Known for their superior craftsmanship, Vávra’s instruments are highly sought after for their rich history and remarkable sound quality.

This violin has been meticulously preserved, showing only minor signs of wear consistent with age while retaining its original varnish and beautiful patina. 

Condition is pretty good without any contractual damages. There are some scratches on the surface which are visible on the photos. There are two very small and not deep cracks near the tailpiece which are consistent with the wood age and they will not affect the sound quality. All other parts are in place. 

Violins by Alfons Vávra are increasingly rare and highly sought after in the global antique instrument market. The combination of its historical significance, impeccable condition, and extraordinary sound quality justifies its high price.
