It's the twilight of 1964 and Renault is presenting a very spicy version of its R8 at the Paris Motor Show. The modest family car was entrusted to the “sorcerer” Amedée Gordini, who turned it into a real sports car.

Two years later, in 1966, the R8 Gordini began its second youth with the R1135 model. The engine capacity was increased and the power rose to 88 hp DIN with a top speed of 175 km/h. 

Especially in racing the R8 Gordini established a solid reputation, and it was very successful in various rallies (e.g. “Tour de Corse”) and on the circuit.

Today this wolf in sheep’s clothes is considered by many experts as the spiritual ancestor of modern small GTIs.

This lot contains 6 genuine Renault 8 Gordini publications of the 1960s, all in FRENCH language.

1) Instruction & maintenance manual (conduite & entretien) Renault R1135 (R8 Gordini 1300): 
French language, format 21 x 13,5 cm, 56 pages (excl. covers).
Ref. 7701 425 238 - NE989 - 2ème édition.
This very rare and hard to find user manual is a in used, but very good condition.

2) Sales catalogue (brochure) “Gordini-Renault 8”: 
French language, format 31 x 23 cm (larger than A4), 20 pages (incl. covers).
Ref. 46.166-03-03 Editions Publicis Paris M.217.
This rare original brochure is in a very good condition.

3) Sales catalogue (leaflet) “Renault 8 Gordini”: 
French language, format 31 x 23 cm (larger than A4), 4 pages.
Ref. 46.267.03.03 Editions Publicis Paris M571.
This rare original sales leaflet is in a very good condition.

4) Mini sales catalogue (brochure) “Gordini-Renault 8”: 
French language, small format 18 x 13,5 cm, 12 pages (incl. covers).
Ref. 46.137.05.03 Editions Publicis Paris M085.
This rather rare, genuine sales brochure is in good condition (traces of use).

5) Workshop manual (manuel de réparation)  M.R. 133 “R1135”: 
French language, format 21 x 27 cm, +/- 100 pages.
Ref. 85.133.00.03, edition November 1966.
This original workshop manual contains all specific repair instructions for the R1135 (R8 Gordini 1300) and is in a used, but still very nice condition.

6) Parts catalogue (pièces de rechange)  P.R. 837 “R1135”: 
Multi-language (FR, DK, DE, EN, ES, IT, NL, SE) , format 27 x 21 cm, +/- 140 pages.
Ref. 77.01.428.103, 2nd edition July 1969.
This genuine spare parts catalogue contains a complete assembly information for the R1135 (R8 Gordini 1300)  in exploded and ghost view drawings and is in a used, but still very nice condition.
