Being an Apple enthusiast, I have collected RARE and VALUABLE hardware and software for my co-sentimental Apple companions. The lucky Macintosh Apple enthusiast can supplement his/her collection with this legendary collector's item: the “APPLE II Duodisk Dual 5.25" Floppy Disk Drive” to give you a glimp of Apple's history.

The “APPLE II Duodisk Dual 5.25" Floppy Disk Drive” is a rare and sought-after piece for collectors of vintage computing memorabilia. This dual 5.25" floppy drive, produced by Apple, is considered a valuable find for enthusiasts of retro computing technology. With its classic design this product is a perfect addition to any vintage computer setup or collection.

The "Apple Duodisk drive" [A9M0108] was introduced in 1984 slightly before the Unidisk. It contains two 5-1/4″ Unidisk drives mounted side by side in a beige enclosure. Designed to sit between the computer and monitor.

The Duodisk drive has a unique, removable cable that runs from the drive to a drive interface card – either the I/O Controller (Duodisk) Card or the 5.25 Drive Controller Card as it was later named.

It can be used on the Apple II, II Plus, IIe or IIGS with a Controller Card. It can be used with the disk port on some IIGS’s.

Because I don't have an Apple II – and it's not tested – it's auctioned as NON WORKING! Only bid on this item if you think you can repair it or if you just want to use it as a decoration piece.

The DuoDisk drive is in overall very good state (without cracks). 

 // IMPORTANT – A NOTE ON YELLOWED PLASTICS! 
Some words on the yellowing.   Old computer items are made of ABS plastics which contain at that time "BROMINE". The element bromine reacts over the time of years with UV light and causes (not-even) "yellowing"*. The bromine yellowing is not even. I mean. Some parts age differently.

Take into account the fact that the plastic case shows "some stains" en "cosmetical imperfections" that are unfortunately difficult to capture. But they are there!

 Please, if you find the aforementioned "stains" and "imperfections" a problem, it is recommended that you do NOT bid on this item. Again … the yellowed plastic* is not easy to capture on camera. 

FYI/
Experienced collectors love the "aging-bromine-yellowing". You can compare it with "patina" on vintage furnitures. For connoisseurs it transforms the-surface-of-a-piece from the ordinary to the exceptional – and it tells a story … and brings on the appeal of objects that show their age openly. But again … it is important to know that this specific Mac has PATINA.
