Antieke opklaptafel, ook wel bekend als een flap-aan-de-wand. Deze tafel is uitgevoerd in de Hindelooper Stijl, een traditionele decoratieve meubel- schilderkunststroming uit Hindeloopen, Friesland. Deze eeuwenoude stijl dreigde in de 19e eeuw geheel te verdwijnen, en is tegenwoordig onderdeel van de Nationale Inventaris Immaterieel Erfgoed Nederland.

De tafel bestaat uit een drietal poten met een ovalen blad. Het tafelblad en één poot kunnen worden gekanteld om de tafel vlak tegen de muur te kunnen plaatsen (zie foto's). In opgeklapte stand is de tafel 115 cm. hoog.

Het houtwerk bevat vele zorgvuldige handgemaakte details in ieder aspect van de tafel, van de gedraaide houten poten tot de pen waarmee het tafelblad wordt bevestigd op de draaiende poot. Ook het schilderwerk is zeer rijk en nauwkeurig, kenmerkend voor de Hindelooper Stijl. Over de gehele tafel zijn verschillende natuurlijke decoraties aangebracht, zoals verscheidene bloemen, planten en vogels. De bovenkant van het tafelblad is enigszins bescheidener uitgevoerd, terwijl de onderkant rijker beschilderd is. De onderzijde bevat een tafereel vanuit de bijbel (2 Samuël 6:14):

"En David huppelde met alle macht voor het aangezicht des Heeren; en David was omgord met een linnen lijfrok."

De leeftijd van het meubelstuk is onbekend. De bovenzijde van het tafelblad is licht verweerd. Ook is zijn er sporen van herstel in de spil van de draaiende poot. De rest van het de tafel, zowel het mechaniek als het schilderwerk, zijn in goede staat. Zie foto's voor details.

Door de aard van het object wordt niet verstuurd tenzij geregeld vanuit de koper, en kan in Utrecht worden opgehaald.
