A “flat-pipe” stove was widely used in the second half of the 19th century. The “flat-pipe” from Brabant or Leuven were the most commonly used stoves. With the “flat-pipe” stove, before gasses are transported to the chimney they are channelled through the stove in which are a couple of cooking rings. These cooking rings can be made smaller by using more cooking rings. A “flat-pipe” stove used to serve as a heat source but also as a stove. It is a very ornate stove with a drawer on the side of the fireplace that can be used as a baking oven. The stove used to be made in very many different designs, with rich decorations and enamel for example. Nowadays the stove from Brabant are mainly used for decoration purposes.
The lot will include some free briquettes and charcoal.
