Pekka Nuikki has been repeatedly recognized as one of the world’s leading wine photographers. After a celebrated career in fashion photography, he shifted his creative focus to his lifelong passion—vintage wines and vineyards. The result is a bold and atmospheric body of work that offers dark, cinematic, and entirely fresh perspectives on some of the world’s most legendary wineries.

Since 1990, Nuikki’s photographs have been featured in solo exhibitions across the globe—most recently in Bordeaux, Vienna, Hong Kong, Napa Valley, and New Delhi. His captivating images grace the walls of major museums and prestigious private collections worldwide—as well as dozens of top wineries, where his work has become part of the visual identity of the estates themselves.

Nuikki captures all his wine-themed photographs on film and prints them on delicate watercolor paper. He then "exposes" the image by hand—using brushes and special chemicals to darken or lighten selected areas, effectively painting with light. This meticulous process creates the mysterious, almost dreamlike atmosphere that defines his work—and ensures that every single print is a unique, handcrafted piece of art.

Nuikki has been a member of the Photographic Artists' Association and The Artists' Association of Finland since 1990, and has served on the board of the Photographic Artists' Association since 2020.

His wine-themed exhibitions have consistently sold out during their opening nights, with prices ranging from €2,500 to €6,500. Remarkably, until now, his photographs have never been publicly available for purchase.
