Description from the seller
Great piece by master artist Michael Jay Hunt
Amsterdam
hand signed lower right
60 x 100 cm( without the frame)
oil on canvas
Figurative painter of topographical scenes, landscapes and especially evocative interiors, Michael John Hunt travels continually in search of eclectic and distinctive settings that will become the subjects of his masterful paintings.
Inspired by the 17th century Dutch painters, particularly Vermeer, his paintings always have a specific light source emanating from a window or doorway, dramatically illuminating the scene. His intimate interiors are glimpses into dwellings and lifestyles both grand and rustic and, like the Dutch masters, the surfaces of his paintings are pristine.
Michael John Hunt has had many one-man exhibitions throughout Europe and has participated in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition for 6 years, the Paris Salon, National Art Collection Fund and the Society of Equestrian Artists.
