You are bidding on a very fine 4/4 violin, labeled Giuseppe Ornati fece in Milano Anno 1951 G.O.M G.Ornati. The instrument is in ready to play condition with no cracks.
The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The original varnish of golden amber reddish color remains in good condition. The whole length of the violin is 592 mm and the back 359 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 162 mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 202 mm. The sound of this instrument is of a charming character, rich, warm, sweet and beautiful colors, depth and great carrying power.
