Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland - Ewer - earthenware

Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland - Ewer - earthenware

Beautiful flawless and distinguished rare can from the 1930s by the Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland.
The jug is produced with 2560 (model number) and Z502 (glaze number). The jug is 24 cm high and 16 cm in diameter.
He has no chips, lines, or other damage. In short, in excellent condition and well marked on the underside.

This Gouda factory (like almost all Delftware factories) suffered greatly in the early 1930s due to the large strike of Delft painters and the financial crisis. Led by the well-known designer Leen Muller, during this period, experimentation with spray glazes took place in the Decorative Arts Department of the factory. These colored glazes were not painted but sprayed by hand onto the ceramic objects. Not only was the spraying technique new, but the colors derived from earth, sand, and stones were also new. In the mid-1930s, the economy began to improve, bringing an end to this short period of the most imaginative, colorful, and most typically shaped earthenware in Dutch ceramics history. Therefore, you are purchasing a rare and unique piece.
