Vicuana 2003 from Bodegas Bilbaínas, a rare and hard-to-find wine.

In 1918, Bodegas Bilbaínas acquired Viña Vicuana, one of the finest vineyards in Haro, the birthplace of Rioja, located near the winery on a bend in the Ebro River. With exceptional characteristics, both for its terroir and its accompanying climate, the winery now produces Viña Vicuana wine.

Continuing with its philosophy of focusing on its roots, the winery launches Viña Vicuana, a wine that reflects its origins and the diversity of Rioja vineyards. Its name, Viña Vicuana, comes from a vineyard acquired in 1918 in Haro (La Rioja), with exceptional characteristics, both for its terroir (5.23 hectares of clay-loam and sandy soils) and for its accompanying climate, primarily Atlantic. In this area, Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha, and even Mazuelo vines were found, and today, along with the older Tempranillo and Graciano vines, 1.7 hectares of Garnacha have been recovered, in order to return Viña Vicuana to its former identity.Vicuana 2003 de Bodegas Bilbaínas, un vino raro y dificil de encontrar.

En 1918 Bodegas Bilbaínas adquirió Viña Vicuana, una de las mejores viñas de Haro, cuna del Rioja, ubicada en las proximidades de la bodega sobre un meandro del Ebro. De características excepcionales, tanto por su terruño como por la climatología que le acompaña, de ahí nace hoy el vino Viña Vicuana.

Siguiendo con su filosofía de poner el foco en las raíces, la bodega lanza al mercado Viña Vicuana, un vino que es el reflejo de su origen y de la diversidad del viñedo riojano. Su nombre, Viña Vicuana, proviene de un viñedo adquirido en 1918 en Haro (La Rioja), de características excepcionales, tanto por su terruño ( 5,23 hectáreas de suelos franco arcillosos y arenosos) como por la climatología que le acompaña, de características principalmente atlánticas. En esta zona se encontraban cepas de Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha e incluso Mazuelo y en la actualidad, junto con las cepas más antiguas de Tempranillo y Graciano, se ha recuperado 1,7 hectáreas de Garnacha, con el fin de devolver a Viña Vicuana su antigua identidad.
