Die Perth Mint ist die älteste Münzprägeanstalt in Australien. Im Jahr 1896 wurde Sie von Sir John Forrest in der Stadt Perth gegründet. Die Betriebsaufnahme erfolgte im Jahr 1899 als eine Niederlassung der Royal Mint aus London. Goldmünzen, Silbermünzen, Platinmünzen sowie Palladiummünzen von der Perth Mint sind sehr beliebt, da diese in einer sehr hohen Prägequalität und überwiegend in einer schönen Plastikkapsel ausgeliefert werden. Alle Goldbarren zur Kapitalanlage mit Motiv "Känguru" auf der Rückseite werden in einer hochwertigen Blisterverpackung ausgegeben. Seit Ende 2015 wurde die Farbe der Blisterkarten von Grün auf Schwarz umgestellt.
