Christian Plat

This is 3 items of historical and industrial interest, from the late 19th century. These tools were used by a cooper, or barrel maker.
It includes an amazing huge bowl adze, used for carving out the staves. The metal part measures 22cm long and 20cm wide. The iron has a fabulous patina and marks from use.
The T shaped auger is in excellent condition, with makers marks, an oak handle and is still sharp enough to use. It is used for making the holes in a barrel for the tap. It measures 23cm x 23cm.
The flat wooden item with iron ends is used for hammering the hoops into place and is called a 'chasse de tonnelier'. It measures 22cm long, and is in excellent condition.
